A few years ago, from a catalog, I ordered a large stretched canvas Giclee print for our living room. I wasn't really happy with it but hung it anyway, hoping it would grow on me.
Yesterday, I decided to add my own little touch to it.
I painted some acrylics on a piece of mixed media paper and cut out lettering.
Just a little addition, but I'm happier with the print now.
Now it's an original!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow very clever of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the painting you did on mixed media paper best of all. I think a larger version of that would be fantastic on a stretched canvas.
ReplyDeleteEllen, that is really cool! Very clever of you!
ReplyDeleteIt shore looks better now!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Ellen, I know the feeling. I have this large delightful woodsy snow print over the mantel but had always wanted a nice oil painting instead. You guessed it! I just oil painted right over the cardboard print, and it looks good! "Where there's a will there's a way" By the way I have a new 2nd blog http://www.preciouscottage.blogspot.com hope you'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sherrie--although, I do really love that mustard shade in the original giclee...
ReplyDeletethats so much better!!! I love that you did that! xoxo
