Super Easy

I got a pattern from www.craftsy.com for these cute embellishments to add to holiday packages.
Cut out 6 circles using double sided paper (I used a small scrapbook tablet).  Draw a triangle on one side of each circle making sure it is centered and touches the sides.  Fold in 2 of the triangle sides with the lines on the bottom and glue each circle together to form a flower.

TOO CUTE AND EASY!!!!

Tis The Season

It's starting to look very festive at our house.  Like everyone else, I have been very busy getting ready for the holidays.  Sewing, crafting, cooking and shopping - and I can't share my creations until the end of the month!  Happy Holidays!

Finished Mini

This past weekend I finished my 12" mini quilt, a challenge from "15 Minutes Play".  I used machine stitching, added some hand stitched details and embellished it with a few beads.

I love making small art quilts, the size is so easy to work with and they get finished in no time!

Another big thank you to Victoria - she inspires so many of us with her blog challenges.

November Block of the Month

November's block is called "Star Crown" but I want to call mine "Tequila Sunrise" - dark pinks, oranges and yellows are the colors of the morning and evening skies in San Diego lately.

There are 60 pieces and 12 different fabrics in the block - wow!

Week 15

I can't believe I have kept up with my Project Life scrapbook.  I just finished week 15 - filled with Halloween, friendships, Dia de los Muetros activities and good times.

This project takes a lot of dedication and a ton of daily photos but my book is filled with joy and memories that I will always treasure.

Mini Quilt Challenge

Bumble Beans Inc. is having a mini quilt challenge.  Our quilts must measure 12" square and contain "made fabric".  I have started on mine using blue, green and pink batiks from my scrap bag.  The center star measures 3 1/2" and the current size is 7 1/2".

Fun Fun Fun!!

A Day in the Life . . .

On Danny Gregory's Facebook page "Everyday Matters", artists have been painting the little events that happen during their day.  I decided to give it a try yesterday and here is my result.  It was harder than I expected but I did have fun making a simple Sunday into a watercolor page.

Testing

Last week, we got a new Mac computer and a new HB printer.  It has been quite an experience switching from a PC to a Mac.  We have taken classes and promptly forgotten everything we learned.  It took me days to get familiar with the printer.

So this is my first attempt at posting on the blog with the new system - hope it works!!!
Wow!!  There's my photo!!  Yesterday, my husband and I joined our friends for San Diego's Little Italy Festa.  The chalk art was fantastic, the booths were filled with all kinds of goodies to purchase and we enjoyed a great Italian lunch at Mona Lisa Restaurant - what a great day!!

October Block

October's Block of the Month is called "Chaos Star" and despite the name, it went together easily - even while using so many different fabrics.

I love these colors together!!

Swiss Journal

For the past few days, I have been working on a photo album of my husband's bike tour of Switzerland.  Luckily, he kept a daily journal which really helped me match his itinerary with the many photos he took.

I kept it simple and now he has a something to treasure, filled with the great memories of his fantastic trip.

Scrap Swap

At the beginning of this year, I participated in a scrap swap through Bumble Beans, Inc.  I received a large bag of scraps from Carol in Minnesota and promptly made 6 blocks using the "Lone Starburst" paper pieced pattern.  Now it is the middle of September and I have set myself a goal to make 6 more blocks - here is the latest one.

Thank you again Carol for sharing your scraps with me.

September Calendar

I really like the light teal and brick red together on my September calendar.  I used acrylics, scrapbook paper, stencils and ink to give it a feeling of crisp, cooler days ahead.

After making pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer, I decided to make some for our bed.  They are so easy to make and I think they look great with our other pillows.

July BOM Mini

I finally finished the July 6" Block of the Month.  I really like the colors.  Now I need to work on the August mini and the September blocks.  Wow, am I ever behind!!

I'm having major problems with my computer and it looks like I need a new one.  I'm waiting for my husband to return from his bike tour of Switzerland so we can purchase a replacement.  Hopefully this old one will last for another 2 weeks!!

My sister needed some small items for gifts and luckily I had these mini wallets already made.  They were mailed off to Texas to be used for bunco prizes - I do love making these little treasures!

Anvils

On her facebook page, Victoria from Bumble Beans, Inc. asked for donated anvil blocks.  She is making a quilt for a cancer patient and I was very happy to help.  She suggested any blue background and bright colors for the center.  I love using scraps and happy colors.  These blocks are off to NYC today.

August 19th

Happy Birthday to my sister Marcia!  I used watercolors to paint her initials for her special day.

ConKerr Cancer

My friend Nancy is having a birthday soon.  She has asked for donations of pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer instead of gifts, so I got busy and made these for her.  The pillowcases will go to young cancer patients and hopefully will brighten a child's hospital stay a little.
