Lots of Little Wallets

Here are the little wallets I have made for my daughter's booth at a craft fair.  They are so much fun to make and I hope they are a big success in sales.  I also made 6 others that I have given as gifts to friends and family.

Here's the custom one I made for myself - too cute!!

The pattern is "Little Wallet" sewing card by Valori Wells and is available through Stitchin' Post Publications.

Creative Pumpkins

Knowing my love of VW's, my friend Michelle couldn't resist sending me a photo from the internet of this clever VW bus.  What a cool idea!
Jane LaFazio shared this great Day of the Dead pumpkin on Facebook.  How creative!
Storm and I have our pumpkins ready to carve next week, Red can hardly wait!

Quilting Time

Have you ever noticied how HUGE a quilt seems when it comes time to actually quilt it?  While this baby quilt is only 40" x 40", I decided to sew it in straight narrow rows after using so many tiny fabric pieces.  I'm almost finished - thank goodness!

I finished 4 gifts this weekend, my sewing list is getting shorter.

Thank You Annie!

This delightful, handcrafted postcard arrived in my mail yesterday.  It was made by the very talented Annie at  She creates fabric postcards that will put a big smile on your face.  I am so lucky to have been chosen to receive "Fat Orange Cat" - does he look familiar?
This is the photo of Red from my very first blog posting back on December 26, 2010!  It was fate that Annie selected us, Red and I send a BIG thank you!!!

You are in our thoughts and prayers Marina.

Southern California is having it's first rain storm of the season. In between showers, last evening we had a spectatular view as the sun was setting.

Perfect weather for staying cozy inside to read, quilt, nap and fix chicken tortilla soup for supper.

Getting Ready

I have been very busy making mini-wallets for my daughter's booth at the Patchwork Indie Art and Craft Festival in November.  I'm suppose to attach labels to my products and they have been ordered, so as soon as they arrive I can start putting these wallets together.  I had soooo much fun picking fabrics, always my favorite step in sewing.
If you reside anywhere near Culver City, I hope you can attend the festival.

My dear friend Sherry and I met when we both worked for Jacki Sorensen's Aerobic Dancing way back in the 80's.  When we moved on to new jobs, we started meeting once a month for lunch and shopping.  For over 30 years, we have exchanged little gifts each time we meet for our fun filled Saturdays.

I purchased two artists pens for Sherry this month and enclosed them in this silly little ghost.  I used two pieces of copier paper, cut out the ghost shape, stuffed it with the pens and tissue paper, then zig zagged around the edges.

Happy October Sherry!

Craft Booth

My daughter Paige, will have a booth at the Culver City Patchwork Indie Art and Craft Festival on November 4th.  She is recruiting the entire family to contribute items to fill her booth with handcrafted goodies.  I have some quilts she can display and I have been busy sewing some small fabric merchandise to add to her booth.

Good luck Paige!

Baby Quilt

I just finished the top of the baby quilt I have been working on using whites and lights.  It will be presented to baby Cameron in December when he makes his debut.
I fell in love with this number fabric for the border and will use it on the back also.  So many of these light fabrics bring back memories - they have been in my stash since my daughters were little.
