In the current issue of Cloth Paper Scissors, there is an article by Susan Black on making a collage. You start with dark coffee, painted on a piece of watercolor paper.
Next you draw a design (I "borrowed" her flower pattern) then glue on different papers for a colorful collage.
The final step is to embellish your design with doodles, stamps and anything you want to add to your journal page.
Thank you Susan for a great tutorial!

June Mini
This past weekend, I finished the 6 1/2" Block of the Month for June. Wow, the pieces were super tiny but I think it turned out good.

A Little House
Inspired by thekathrynwheel.blogspot.com I made this little house to add to my journal. Using a piece of cardboard, I painted it with acrylics and added details with pens and stamps. Under the roof eave, I wrote "leave your worries at the door".
The back is painted with a single flower.
A big thank you to all of the wonderful, talented bloggers who inspire us with their imaginations.

Blog in Print
Jane LaFazio shared the website blog2print.com where you can get your blog pages made into a book. When you visit the site, you can even see how your book will turn out for free.
I splurged and ordered my book! Wow! It is so cool to see all of your blogs in an impressive book, it is something I will always treasure.

June Block of the Month
Sunlight Star is this month's paper pieced block. I really like this star but the pieces are getting smaller and smaller in the patterns and I had to do a lot of ripping and resewing to finish it.
I can't believe it's been half of a year since I started this quilt - it has really been a learning experience to work with paper piecing but also a lot of fun!
