I love to read and usually buy books but I must admit, it has been many, many years since I went to the library. This morning, I visited my local branch and got a library card in the perfect color!!
I'm making a list of books I enjoyed in my youth and I'm really looking forward to reading them again.

Scrap Swap Block
Carol E. from St. Paul, Minnesota sent me a wonderful, colorful bag of her scraps for the latest swap from 15 Minutes Play. I chose a paper pieced pattern called "Lone Starburst" for my block and I am determinded to use a piece from every fabric she sent me. I added the white material for a good contrast.
Thank you Carol, your scraps have found a good home!

Scrap Swap
Bumble Beans, Inc. organized a scrap swap. I gathered some of my favorite fabric scraps and mailed them
off to Carol in St. Paul, Minnesota.
It was recommended that we send enough scraps to fill a gallon plastic bag. I made a bag using different fabrics on each side that Carol can also add to her stash.
Everyone will make a block from their new scraps and share them on Bumble Beans, Inc.
I LOVE SWAPS!!!

April Stars
I finished the 6 1/2" star this weekend. The center is a little too light but I still like it.
Here are the two versions of the Black Hole Star pattern. Digging through my stash, I was so lucky to find the teal dotted fabric, it fits perfectly with my color scheme.

Watercolor Class Week 8
For our last class meeting, Jane taught us how to paint on Masa paper. We drew our design in permanent ink, then crumpled our paper into a ball and soaked it in water for about 1 minute. While it was still wet, we color washed the background. The watercolor spreads easily over the surface and once dry, we painted our design.
Everyone really enjoyed the class including this service pooch who became a class favorite! Thank you to Jane LaFazio for introducing us to so many fun projects.

April Calendar
April has arrived and I'm ready to fill my days with fun!
I doodled around my days using black ink, colored pens and watercolors. I hope this month is filled with sun, flowers and little showers while we are sleeping.
Happy April!
