Fiesta!
On the last night of my sisters visit, we had Mexican food and watched the wonderful dancers perform at Fiesta de Reyes in Old Town, San Diego. I would love to be able to twirl a skirt like this - bravo!!!

Getting Crafty
My sister is visiting from Texas for 9 days so I needed to take down my craft table in our guestroom.
I wanted to created something with her, so we moved art supplies to my kitchen island and started crafting.
We made a HUGE mess (my stove top is somewhere under all of this stuff!)
Look what we made - recycled circles!! Marcia really enjoyed her introduction into mixed media and we had a great time creating our mini works of art.

Here Comes Santa
I signed up to participate in a group Christmas quilt from the blog Bumble Beans, Inc. Everyone received two little 4" pieces of Santa fabric and we could choose which one to use for our block.
We could crop our fabric, and my little Santa became part of a 12" flying geese holiday wreath. Today I will mail Santa back to New York City where he will become part of a larger quilt.

I See Stars
I have completed 6 blocks of the "white or light" challenge from 15 Minutes Play. The tiny stars are a big hit with everyone, they really pop out and add a touch of interest.
Since this is going to be a baby quilt, I will probably sew 3 more blocks and add a wide border.

Guest Artist
Today I am a guest artist on artfabrik.blogspot.com Over a year ago, I won prefused scraps from quilter and author Laura Wasilowski. I created Pinkie, a silly kittie peeking out from a bed of colorful flowers.
Visit Laura's blog today and leave a comment - you may be a lucky winner like I was.

Is It Autumn Yet?
Although it's been very warm and humid in San Diego, I'm already preparing for fall. Yesterday, I purchased these beautiful plants to add to my garden. I'm just waiting until pumpkins start arriving in the markets to complete my fall displays.

Whites and Lights
The latest challenge from the blog, "15 minutes play", is to use white and light fabrics. I tend to purchase bright colors and I really had to search my stash to put this 10" block together using light fabrics.
For little pops of color, I'm adding tiny wonky stars. I was inspired by a quilt called twinkling stars by Lynn Harris in the GenerationQ Magazine.
I'm thinking baby quilt with these light colors, I need one as a gift in December.

Ready For Quilting
I finished the back for my color challenge quilt, now it's ready to be quilted professionally. I think both sides will look really great when this quilt is completed.
